GUT HEALING HONEY, TURMERIC, GINGER & MARSHMALLOW BITES

Honey: Honey is a natural prebiotic that promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut, aiding in digestion and maintaining a healthy gut flora. Its soothing properties can help alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort and irritation, making it a gentle remedy for digestive issues such as acid reflux and indigestion. (Raw & Unfiltered)

Turmeric: Turmeric, rich in curcumin, offers significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits that can improve digestive health. It helps in reducing symptoms of bloating, gas, and indigestion by promoting the production of bile, which aids in the digestion of fats, and by soothing inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.

Ginger: Ginger is well known for its ability to alleviate nausea, reduce bloating, and enhance gastric motility. Its digestive benefits stem from its capacity to stimulate saliva, bile, and gastric enzymes, which help in breaking down food more efficiently, thus promoting smoother digestion and reducing discomfort.

Marshmallow: Marshmallow root powder is valued for its mucilaginous properties, which form a protective layer on the lining of the digestive tract. This soothing action helps to reduce irritation, inflammation, and discomfort in the stomach and intestines, making it beneficial for conditions like gastritis, ulcers, and colitis.

What you’ll need:

1/4 cup honey

7 tbsp powdered turmeric

2 tbsp powdered ginger

1 tbsp powdered marshmallow

1/4 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter*

*The nut butter is optional. I prefer it to help tame the spiciness of the herbs.

Directions:

1. Add the powdered herbs to the honey and nut butter,

2. Mix well with a large spoon.

3. Add a small amount of marshmallow powder (or protein powder) to your hands to prevent the dough from sticking. (I wear rubber gloves to prevent any staining from the turmeric)

4. Create small dough balls, roughly about the size of a quarter, and place them on a plate.

5. Let them sit until the honey dries out.

6. Once they dry, store them in a jar with a lid. Take one about two to three times a day.
